Ola Dubh is initially brewed as an Imperial Porter. Harviestoun has exclusive license to use whisky casks from Highland Park - one of the pre-eminent distillers of single malt whisky - to age this unique beer. The beer is aged for six months in casks that previously were used to age Highland Park for 12 or 18 years (as indicated on the bottle).

Flavours of expresso and chocolate combine with cereal aroma, dried fruit tart, orange oil and a suggestion of vanilla. The peaty single malt whisky character comes through in the beer from the aging process. Incredibly well balanced - rich and delicious.
