
‘Mongozo’ means ‘to your health in the language of the Chokwe people – who live across the African countries of Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Henrique Kabia – of the Chokwe people – left Africa with only a range of distinctive beer recipes as his possessions. When he arrived in Belgium, he was determined to make his fortune by brewing these distinctive beers. Adhering to the philosophy of the Fair Trade movement, the exotic ingredients for Mongozo beers are sourced following ethical (fair trade) philosophies.

Unctuous, fruity and dry is the best way to describe the flavour of Mongozo Palmnut. A spiritual experience – it is the palmnut that gives this beer its characteristic aroma. Mongozo Palmnut is deep, reddish-brown in colour, and above average strength at 7.0% a.b.v. It is essentially an exotic African beer – the modern version of a traditional Angolan beer.
